Darrell has a diverse background in network engineering and unified communications. He is currently a lead engineer for Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise boundary projects and also serves as principal engineer for all Heptagon UC related projects. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Troy University, where he graduated Cum Laude. He holds professional level vendor certifications in network engineering, network security and unified communications to include CCIE 58633, and also holds the vendor neutral CISSP certification. Darrell has 20 years of experience designing, engineering, and testing large-scale enterprise networks. In 2014, he served as the lead engineer of a UC team, which was responsible for commissioning the first DoD Cisco Enterprise Session Controller (ESC), providing secure voice, video, conferencing, presence, and IM chat to DoD customers in Europe. He has also written a multitude of engineering documents such as system design plans, engineering implementation plans, and system acceptance/test plans for various Department of Defense agencies. 

Darrell was born in East Meadow, New York, but spent the latter half of his childhood growing up in Elba, Alabama. In his spare time, Darrell is a volunteer and active board member for the Southeastern Rett Syndrome Alliance, which is a non-profit organization in which families of children with Rett syndrome can receive invaluable guidance on caregiver solutions and techniques and obtain much needed emotional support.
